Since the first Coronavirus case, companies have shown interest in opting for a sustainable remote work plan. Initially, professionals focused on health and safety concerns, online tools and flexible work arrangements. Remote work was defined in the Labor Law numbered 4857 (Article 14, paragraph 4). According to this definition, remote work is a business relationship established in writing and based on the principle that the employee performs the work at home or outside the office premises by means of technological communication tools within the scope of the job defined by the employer.

With the status of the number of cases in Turkey still alarming, organizations must be better prepared to navigate extended remote work arrangements and increasing staff interest in continuing work from home even when the pandemic subsides. In order to meet the expectations of the organizations Turkish government announced a key regulation for remote working.
